Searching News Content

Westlaw Campus research provides current coverage of newspapers, magazines, broadcast transcripts, wires,  Current and archival coverage of newspapers, magazines, and trade journals with sources USA Today, Le Monde, Haaretz, Associated Press, and CNN. It includes international newspapers as well.

Searching for News Content

Click on the News link on Westlaw's homepage. Enter your search terms in the search box at the top at the top of the page. By default you are searching all of the news content, unless you select one of the links below (geographic filter, news type, or news topic),  the search box to narrow your search.

Advanced Search Option

Use the advanced search option to narrow your search results. Click on the Advanced link next to the search box and use the appropriate fields for your search. For example, limit the publication date range, search specific sections of the newspaper article such as lead paragraph, and/or limit your search to English only publications. You can also choose to exclude certain types of news articles (i.e. obituaries, sports news, etc.). Once you have made your selections, click on the search button at the top to conduct your search.

Browse for News Content

Click on the news link from Westlaw's homepage. Browse by clicking on the news sources by type, topic, or geographic region below the search box. When you select one of these links, you will see the 10 most recently published articles.
