Library Staff Changes

Changes are Happening at the Library: Find Out What's New

As I finish my second month as the Executive Director, I am pleased to share some updates in the University Library that reflect our continued dedication to innovation, student support, and access to unique resources. Deirdre McDonald will now serve as the library’s inaugural Assistant Director, maintaining her role with faculty and Research Services and assisting now with collection development and administration. Dr. Kim Grotewold, formerly our Education Librarian, will now serve as AI Librarian, leading efforts to integrate artificial intelligence into research and learning while also managing the Innovation Lab. She will retain some duties as liaison to the College of Education and Human Development. Bryant Moore, previously our First-Year Experience Librarian, will step into the role of Student Success Librarian, expanding support for lower-level undergraduate students throughout their academic journey. Catarina Garza has moved from her former position as Library Associate I to become our new Archivist, enhancing our archival programs and preservation efforts. Additionally, Madison Hinojosa (Evening Library Specialist II) will now divide her time between Public Services and Archives & Special Collections, helping bridge front-line services and deeper archival access. Please join us in celebrating these new roles and the talented individuals stepping into them!
