Linking to LibGuides from Blackboard: Welcome

Explains how to link to course and subject specific LibGuides from Blackboard.

Updates

If you watched Pru's presentation during SpringyCamp in Fall 2012, you'll want to take a look at the following updates:

  • The top portion of the code was changed to alleviate issues with new browser versions.
  • For simplicity's sake, we stopped using "coursePrefix ==" in our code. We now use "coursePrefix.match" for both course- and subject-specific courses.
  • You will need to have your Blackboard administrator put the code in for you due to updated security settings.

You must remove your comments from your code before pasting the code into Blackboard. We keep two versions. One for Blackboard and one with comments for reference.

The Code

Here is the code we are using for the current semester, Fall 2013.

The PowerPoint presentation provides a walkthough with screenshots for applying the code at your institution.

Because this is a script, I am not able to post it as a .txt file or the file shows up blank. To use this script, open the Word document and copy and paste the code into a Notepad document (.txt file). You can edit it from within Notepad.
