May 2025 Hours and Events

It's May! The semester is nearing its end, and you now may be finding yourself stressed over final exams, getting into that Fall class, the existential dread of seeking/starting employment, or just a general uneasiness about the world. To help ease the stress from life and its mundane troubles, we have put up a fun display highlighting some nerdy events that you may enjoy.

We'll just rip this medical adhesive strip off now. This year we were not selected as a recipient for Free Comic Book Day. As stated on the FCBD website "Due to overwhelming demand (and for the very first time in program history!), the number of libraries this program can support was reached in just over 24 hours." But do not fear true believers! We do have an excellent selection of graphic novels and manga at our library available for checkout. Given the lack of free comics this year, one of our staff members has brought some additional graphic novels for you to read!

You know what, you deserve more. We're throwing Star Wars into the mix, including some of the highly acclaimed "Legends"* books. Want to know why we're doing this? As the Mandalorians say, "This is the way."

*Legends material in Star Wars refers to material made before Disney's began working on the expanded universe. Legends content is now non-canon, though inspiration from it can be seen in the new works.
