Research Paper Process

Choose a Topic

First step is to choose a topic. We recommend you consider the following:

  1. What topic are you interested on?
  2. What does your instructor wants you to learn by doing the research?

Once the topic is selected, you should:

  1. Do a preliminary search on the topic using the library databases such as Academic Search Complete or Communication Source (EBSCO).
  2. Focus on the aspects that the paper will discuss.
  3. Create initial thesis statement.
  4. Search the topic.

Search your Topic

These two databases are great to start your search. For more databases and journals click on the "Find Articles" tab.
