In 1990, the Black Caucus of the National Council of Teachers of English established the National African American Read-In. Designed to spotlight diversity in literature, this event commemorates books written by African American authors that elevate their experiences. You can search the area for Read-In events to attend or we encourage you to take a look at the list of books below that the University Library owns written by African American authors.
