The National Day on Writing® (October 20) is an initiative of the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) that began in 2009. It is built on the premise that writing is critical to literacy but needs greater attention and celebration. Every year, using #WhyIWrite individuals are encouraged to share what compels them to write.
This year, try your hand at writing a two-sentence horror story on the library's Instagram page—share yours for a chance to win a fun prize! You can also tell everyone why you write using #WhyIWrite, or explore more options on the NCTE’s website.
The following are just a few of the books owned by the University Library that talk about the writing process. For more information, click on the book's title.
To view any of these e-books, simply click on the book's title and on the next page, click the maroon "View ebook" button. If off campus, you will be prompted to login with your JagWIRE credentials.
