Special thanks to the Student Counseling Center for recommending these podcasts in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
This year's theme for National Domestic Violence Awareness Month highlights the #1Thing campaign, a national initiative reminding us that change begins with just one action. Each of us can do #1Thing - whether that's learning the signs of unhealthy relationships, sharing resources with a friend, or speaking up against harmful comments. Together, our individual actions create a ripple effect that helps build safer, more supportive communities.
The University Library and Student Counseling Center (SCC) are partnering to share recommended readings that challenge common myths about domestic violence, highlight stories of resilience and hope, and encourage care for survivors and allies.
Not all content is endorsed by A&M-SA.
The University Library follows the American Library Association’s Code of Ethics, which upholds intellectual freedom and the right to access information. If you have any questions about the materials, please reach out to a librarian.
Some of the readings may include sensitive material that could bring up strong emotions. Students are encouraged to contact the Student Counseling Center at (210) 784-1331 to schedule an appointment and explore how the SCC can best support them through counseling, resources, or other services.
