There are several software tools to help you organize and streamline a systematic review. Please note most of of these will require a paid subscription. Please work with your department to cover costs as the library doesn't subscribe to these resources.

  • Covidence:The most popular tool. is a systematic reviews production tool for title/abstract screening, full-text screening, data abstraction, and quality assessment. Covidence was designed by researchers familiar with the systematic review process in order to make conducting reviews more efficient, though has a health science focus. Cost money to use. It also has a health research focus.
  • Abstrackr: helps you upload and organize the results of a literature search for a systematic review. It also makes it possible for your team to screen, organize, and manipulate all of your abstracts in one place. Open source and free. Need to create a profile to start.
  • Other software includes: DistillerSR, EPPI-Reviewer, and Rayyan.
