During Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15-October 15) the University Library would like to highlight works by and about prominent comics and graphic novels Latinx creators, along with comics that showcase Latinx voices and experiences.  See the list below for just a few of the titles from this collection.

Tomás Rivera Children's Book Award Winners

All of these books are winners of the  Tomás  Rivera Mexican American Children's Book Award.  This award is given annually to the author or illustrator of the book for children or young adults that most authentically reflects the Mexican American Experience.  The award is given by Texas State University in San Marcos in honor of its most distinguished alumnus,  Tomás Rivera, who went on to become the first Hispanic chancellor in the University of California system.
