Access the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS)

  • The TEKS are the Texas state "standards for what students should be able to know and do."
  • "The State Board of Education (SBOE) has legislative authority to adopt the TEKS for each subject of the required curriculum. SBOE members nominate educators, parents, business and industry representatives, and employers to serve on TEKS review committees" and subject area TEKS are reviewed periodically.
  • Use this site, which includes all the chapters of the K-12 TEKS document, to guide your lesson planning and curriculum development. They are organized by grade levels for grades K-5 and then by subjects for grades 6-12.
